American Honda Off-Road Motorcycles Recall Class Action Lawsuit

On April 30, 2026, American Honda Motor issued a recall for their CRF Off-Road Motorcycles. According to the recall, recall number 26-458, the handlebar’s clamp can unexpectedly cause the motorcycle’s handlebar to rotate, which poses a risk of serious injury or even death due to crashes. The recall affects approximately 12,600 units of motorcycles.

The recall specifically includes model year 2025 and 2026 off-road motorcycles with the following model numbers:

  • CRF250R/RX/RWE

  • CRF450R/RX/RWE

The model numbers can be found on the front of the motorcycle in white letters. The affected off-road bikes have the Honda logo printed in white letters on both sides. The motorcycles have a red chassis.

The vehicle identification number (VIN) is located on the left side of the steering head on all affected models.

The defective motorcycles were sold from June 2024 through March 2026 at Authorized Honda Powersports dealers nationwide; they were sold for prices ranging between $8,900 and $13,200. According to the recall, there has been one report of a crash, although no injuries have been reported.

The company is urging all affected consumers to stop using the recalled motorcycles immediately and contact an authorized dealer to schedule an appointment for a free inspection and a replacement of the handlebar’s clamp.

However, if you or a member of your family suffered any harm related to the defective motorcycles, it is important that you do not agree to a simple replacement handlebar claim. Instead, you should explore the legal options available to you by reaching out to an experienced recall lawyer as soon as possible as you may have the right to sue and receive compensation.

Our lawyers here at the Downtown L.A. Law Group have decades of experience and are fully committed to providing you with the guidance that you need to fight for your rights. If you are ready to discuss your options with an experienced recall lawyer, contact our firm today.

The Injuries that May Occur

As mentioned above, the off-road motorcycle’s handlebar clamp can suddenly cause the handlebar to rotate, posing the risk of a crash occurring. This can happen at any time during use, including when the user is traveling at higher speeds, turning, or landing jumps, for instance. Crashes can lead to extensive injuries, which may include the following:

  • Head injuries, including concussions, skull fractures, hemorrhages, and traumatic brain injuries, in general

  • Neck injuries

  • Back injuries

  • Spinal cord injuries

  • Fractures, broken bones, and dislocations

  • Crushing injuries

  • Impalement injuries

  • Severed limbs

  • Burns

  • Road rash or road burn

  • Scrapes and bruises

  • Lacerations

  • And more

Although some off-road motorcyclists may be able to walk away from these incidents with only minor injuries, others may not be so lucky. Crashes resulting from the defective motorcycle handlebar clamp may lead to catastrophic injuries that can lead to permanent disability and even be fatal.

What to do If Harm Occurred

If you or a member of your family sustained injuries in an incident caused by the defective off-road motorcycle, you may have many questions about the steps to take. Consider the following recommended steps:

  • Take photos of all visible injuries

  • Take photos of the defective product

  • Take photos of the entire scene of the incident

  • Seek medical care as soon as possible

  • Gather all relevant medical records

  • Contact the company to report the incident and the harm that occurred

  • Do not agree to a free repair, refund, replacement, or any remedy offered by the company

  • Speak to any witnesses and collect their contact information

  • Gather any video footage that captured the incident (including any body cam footage)

  • Gather purchase receipts

  • Seek legal help with a recall lawyer as soon as possible
